July Introduction to Ashtanga

Introduction to Ashtanga is a month-long three-day-a-week introduction to Ashtanga that will provide you with a relaxed and safe environment to make a significant start in Mysore-style Ashtanga yoga. You will learn one posture at a time, which is the traditional way to learn and memorize the sequence of postures that make up the introductory or primary series.

Day by day, posture by posture, through concentration and repetition you will gradually learn the asanas and transitions that make up Ashtanga’s first series. By attending class in the daily intensive setting, you’ll quickly become comfortable with the Mysore-style learning format and you’ll see how effective the method is in helping you establish a personal practice.

This course will prepare you to participate in the ongoing Mysore program at Mysore Phoenix. Class is limited to four students.

Class will be held Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, from 6:00-7:00 AM.
